Frances Winship Walters Society

By including Agnes Scott in your gift plans, you can become a member of the Frances Winship Walters Society (FWWS), a special association of alumnae, faculty, trustees and friends who support the future of the college through planned gifts.

Described by President James Ross McCain as the college's "second founder," Frances Winship Walters (class of 1894) left a bequest that created a lasting legacy at Agnes Scott. The Frances Winship Walters Society honors her and those like her who have made planned gifts.

We invite you to join this circle of donors by making your planned gift to the college. If you are 70 years old or older and provide the college with documentation of your planned gift, it will be counted at its full value in The Greatness Before Us campaign. If you are younger than 70, a substantial portion of your planned gift will count in the campaign.

FWWS donors have named Agnes Scott College as the beneficiary of a planned gift. Such gifts might include a bequest, gifts of retirement accounts, and/or charitable income gifts, such as charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder unitrusts, charitable remainder annuity trusts.

If you have already included the college in your estate plans or once you complete your estate plans, please complete our member profile to let us know. We would like to thank you for your generosity by including you in the Frances Winship Walters Society.

Additionally, if you are at least 70 years old or will be 70 by December 31, 2016, your planned gift can be counted at its full value in The Greatness Before Us campaign. If you are younger than 70, a portion of your planned gift can count in the campaign. Please complete the Record of Gift Intention form to have your planned gift counted in The Greatness Before Us campaign.

Membership Benefits

Your membership involves no dues, obligations or solicitations, but it does allow us to thank you and recognize you for the plans you have made, and it may inspire generosity in others. Each spring you will also be invited to the home of President Elizabeth Kiss for the annual FWWS reception.

The most important benefit you will receive from joining the Frances Winship Walters Society is the satisfaction derived from making a lasting contribution to our long-term success.
